Style & Sustainability are at the very heart of what we do.

Our mission is simple: we want to create style driven cotton alternative underwear that not only looks amazing and makes you feel amazing but most importantly doesn't harm anyone or anything along the way.

Underwear is the first thing you put on in the morning and the last thing you take off at night so in making our first collection comfort was a non-negotiable. Our unique silk-like Tencel and Seacell™ blend is softer than cotton and uses up to 97% less water in its production giving it a huge edge over traditional cotton underwear. Paired with ROICA™ elastane (ionised yarn that absorbs odour and sweat), we give you the optimum stretchy comfort you need.

If that wasn’t enough, our seaweed fabric blend has quasi-medicinal properties. This includes iron and iodine (vital to thyroid function) as well as vitamins A, C, E & B12 that are absorbed through the skin meaning it is perfect for those with sensitive skin too.

We are also so proud to say that we are Designed and Made in London. We don’t use any sweatshops and our suppliers are certified by Oeko-Tex Class I, STeP, REACH compliant, ISO 9001 and 14001 meaning they maintain the highest standards in protecting the environment and their employees and recycle or reuse 98% of all their waste.

Our Founders

Freya and Alex met at the University of Nottingham, they lived next door to each other and the rest is history! They’ve been together for four years and business partners for one of those years. They started Alexander Clementine through a shared passion for fashion and initially set out to create “leather” jackets made from ocean plastics. Unfortunately, after a lot of time and money spent they struggled to do this in a truly sustainable way due to supplier issues and high overheads.

They needed to pivot. They knew we wanted to shake up the sustainable fashion industry and when looking at the big picture saw a gap in the market for underwear. It’s the first thing you put on in the morning and the last thing you take off at night, an absolute necessity, so decided to develop their own range of style driven cotton alternatives. Most underwear around uses cotton which notoriously uses a gargantuan amount of water to create, around 3000 litres to be precise. The other sustainable alternatives looked to us to be quite stuffy and stigmatising so they made it our mission to make sustainability sexy.

They want to be the Power Couple behind the Future of Fashion.

We want to be as transparent as possible so if you’d like more information please do not hesitate to get in contact with us.
