Our Fabric

From Nature to Knickers

Our unique and incredibly soft silk-like fabric is made up of two things: Seaweed (SeaCell™) and wood pulp (Tencel™). Widely considered the most sustainably made fabric, Tencel™ Lyocell fibres have gained a commendable reputation for their environmentally responsible closed loop production process, which transforms wood pulp into cellulosic fibres with high resource (water & energy) efficiency and extremely low environmental impact. The patented process recycles water and reuses the solvent at a recovery rate of more than 99%. Most importantly, Tencel is made from sustainably sourced wood meaning you our customers can have the assurance that your fashion choices are not contributing to any adverse impact on the environment.

SeaCell™ is also produced using the Lyocell process; an innovative and eco-friendly production method. Production takes place in a closed loop with no chemicals released as waste. This patented process embeds the seaweed firmly within the natural cellulose fibre. As a result, the positive properties of the seaweed are permanently preserved within the fibre, even after multiple washes.

Our fabric is produced exclusively from renewable resources – wood and seaweed – using methods that save both energy and resources. Our fibre is carbon neutral and completely biodegradable. We source our seaweed from the Icelandic Fjords, where there is minimal water contamination and zero pollution from shipping traffic. We harvest only above the regenerative point of the plant every 4 years, allowing for full regrowth in between. Harvesting of the seaweed is a gentle, selective and, most importantly, a sustainable process. The seaweed is entirely untreated and all its ecological value is retained.

From Sea to Skin

The unique properties of seaweed help to protect our skin against the harmful environmental influences which we are exposed to in our daily lives. The seaweed is pure and rich in essential substances such as vitamins, trace elements, amino acids and minerals. These include iron and iodine (vital for thyroid function) vitamins A, C, E & B12.  The substances found in seaweed help to activate cell regeneration, which in turn can help to relieve skin diseases, reduce inflammation and soothe itchiness. Its high level of antioxidants protects the skin against harmful free radicals, which damage our skin cells.

From London with Love

We are also so proud to say that we are Designed and Made in London. We don’t use any sweatshops and our suppliers are certified by Oeko-Tex Class I, STeP, REACH compliant, ISO 9001 and 14001 meaning they maintain the highest standards in protecting the environment and their employees and recycle or reuse 98% of all their waste.
